Wild Herb Incense

Go Natural with Juniper Ridge.
Bring the magic of the outdoors inside.

Juniper Ridge harvests things like Cedar from the Northwest, Sage from the Big Sur coast and Juniper from the Southwest desert to make this woodsy outdoorsy smelling natural incense.

Remember the smell of a campfire crackling in the mountain night air.

Made with real leaves, wood and resins from the mountains and deserts of the West.

Cedar

Port Orford Cedar is one of our most popular natural scents.  It can be found in the coastal mountains of northwestern California and southwestern Oregon.  This amazing Cedar has a distinctively pungent, gingery scent that is unique among the cedars of the West, and definitely stands out from all the rest.

Douglas Fir

No tree is more deeply identified with the Pacific Northwest than the Douglas Fir.  Second in size only to the two California sequoia species, Douglas Fir grows to enormous proportions and forms pure stands over much of the Northwest.  When burned, it has a wonderfully cozy, woodsmoke scent that may remind you of the time you camped on the Oregon coast underneath the moss jeweled granddaddy trees and the light scent of Doug fir campfires hung in the air as the night settled in.

Juniper

If you’ve ever been to the Grand Canyon and nudged perilously close to the edge of a 1,000 foot drop-off and wondered what that insane tree jutting out from the side of the cliff was, it was Juniper.  Juniper covers vast portions of the Southwest, and seems happy at home clinging to small ledges on sheer Navajo sandstone cliffs, or peeking up between boulders on precipitous slopes.  This fine incense captures the subtly sweet, cinnamon-like scent of Juniper and is reminiscent of backcountry campfires in the mesa and canyon country of the Southwest.

Pinon

This pinon incense is made with the leaves and ground wood of real pinon pine from the desert Southwest. Because this incense is made with real ground pinon wood, it smells like the real thing.  Pinon pine is found in abundance throughout the mountains and higher elevation plateau country of the Southwest, and has a wonderful, smoky sweet aroma.  This incense is very reminiscent of sleeping under the stars in the desert with the smell of a cracking pinon campfire in the air.

Sweetgrass

Sweetgrass must have been one of the most treasured plants of  prehistoric people because while it doesn't’t spread readily by seed, it managed to make its way to every inhabitable polar region, from Siberia and Northern Europe across the Bering Straight to Alaska and northern Canada.  Today,  Sweetgrass is a favorite of native tribes of Canada, and the American West, and is used ceremonially together with White Sage.  When burned, Sweetgrass has a lovely soft vanilla-like scent, and centering energy.

White Sage

Here at Juniper Ridge we find it odd that no one makes a white sage incense that is just pure, 100% real white sage.  White Sage has such a rich, “sagey” scent when it’s burned, it’s not meant to smell sweet like perfume.  This is the world’s first and only 100% White Sage incense with all the magic of real white sage — because that’s all it is.

All incense from Juniper Ridge is wildcrafted (i.e. made from wild harvested plant material). They go to great lengths to ensure that nothing is harvested in a way that adversely impacts the plants.

10% of their profits are donated to groups who defend western wilderness, so not only are you getting an exceptional gift from the wild, you are also helping to preserve it.
